Setting up your Crypto Wallet
Setting up a secured crypto wallet through MetaMask is your gateway to minting and trading NFTs.
MetaMask instructions:
- Go to metamask.io and download the extension to your web browser
- Click on your browser’s extension tab and make sure MetaMask is visible on your browser page
- Click on the MetaMask extension icon and follow the instructions in the popup window
- GOLDEN RULE: NEVER GIVE ANYONE YOUR SEED PHRASE

Purchase ETHEREUM (ETH) to Fund your Wallet
ETH, or Ether, is the currency of the Ethereum Network. At the time of this writing Ethereum is the blockchain that most NFT projects are built on.
You’ll need ETH in order to mint your NFTs or to trade on your chosen NFT marketplace. In order to purchase ETH you will need to fund your wallett via an onramp like Gemini. Check out the instructions below and this step-by-step setup video.
Here’s how:
- Create an account on a cryptocurrency exchange, we suggest Gemini.com.
- Connect your bank account or debit card/ Add funding Source.
- Deposit money into your Gemini account and navigate to ETH
- Purchase as much ETH as you want. Each Sporo will cost .04 eth plus gas for the Mintpass and then gas once more when the character minting window opens.
Note: You will want to get this step done before our NFTs are available. Gemini will hold your ETH for 5 days before you are able to move it.
Transfer Your ETH from Gemini Exchange to Metamask Wallet
The below instructions summarize this processess:
- Once your crypto exchange notifies you that your ETH is available to transfer, you’ll need to move it to your MetaMask wallet so the marketplace knows how much you have to spend, and where to send your new NFT/Mintpass.
- Click on the MetaMask icon in your browser.
- Click on “Account 1” or whatever you’ve named your wallet to copy your wallet address.
- Paste your wallet address into your crypto exchange and transfer your ETH. Always best to have leftover as ETH makes everything happen.
- Send your ETH to your wallet and select moderate speed. Gas fees cost more when more people are trying to access the Ethereum network at the same time, so it is usually cheapest late at night in the Americas.
